When I woke up this morning I had the weirdest urge to write a letter. If you would like to receive some old-fashioned physical post, leave your address here or email it to me… marston(at)wisc.edu

I definitely just used the premiere of the first Star Wars movie to explain why communication science researchers in the 80s began to equate low-pitched voices with perceived dominance… best paper ever…
Relay for Life
by Cameron on March 21st, 2007
Hey,
I don’t know if anybody even reads this anymore, but just in case you do, my a cappella group and I have formed a team for this year’s Relay for Life. If any of you guys feel like donating to help fight cancer we’d really appreciate it.
Click here to go to my personal donations page. It’s an easy way to get involved with a great cause and every little bit helps. Even if you only have $5 to give, please don’t hesitate.
Thanks everybody,
Lord Ontario of Suave
Help!
by Cameron on February 27th, 2007
Hello all,
I need people who are smarter than I am to look at this paper and tell me if the grammar and things are correct and if it makes sense from any kind of a logical standpoint… things like whether or not I stick to and defend the loosely constructed thesis would be helpful to me… any input at all really.
I should note that this paper is the first of many relating to this speech. This paper is simply an attempt to boil down the overall argument in the piece as the rhetor is displaying it. We’re not supposed to give any evaluative input at this point, so if it’s a little bland that would be why.
Thanks!

“That’s great news about Zoey. I didn’t meet her, but I bet she’s nice.”
“Not really, but my love for her knows no bounds.”
2006 Mix
by Cameron on December 16th, 2006
Well, my 06 mix is complete. I haven’t added any special touches yet, but some of the transitions are pretty nice. Listen to it with some cross fading and you’ll see what I mean… hopefully.
Anyway, I’ve decided not to call it my “Best of” mix anymore since some of the tracks aren’t from 2006. The four that aren’t are from 2005, so it’s not a huge deal, I don’t think, but this mix was always meant to be a retrospective of the new music I discovered and fell in love with over the course of the year; the songs that will stick with me.
That folder has two .txt files in it. One is basically an iTunes-compatible playlist file, the other is instructions on how to use it. It’s not terribly complicated, but I’m long-winded and like to explain things.
The song list is as follows:
- Barenaked Ladies - Down to Earth
- Ben Folds - Family of Me
- The Flaming Lips - The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song
- Islands - Rough Gem
- Keane - Let it Slide
- Belle & Sebastian - The Blues are Still Blue
- Cursive - Dorothy at Forty
- Rogue Wave - Publish my Love (2005)
- The Shins - Phantom Limb
- Jack Johnson - Upside Down
- Regina Spektor - Samson
- John Mayer - Dreaming with a Broken Heart
- Fruit Bats - Silent Life (2005)
- Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins - The Charging Sky
- Tally Hall - Be Born (2005)
- The Decemberists - The Crane Wife 3
- The Elected - Not Going Home
- The 88 - Coming Home (2005)
Enjoy!

My computer has been off for 36 hours. Why is it that I expected something monumentally interesting to happen on the internet during that time? Seriously, I turned on my computer today and was waiting with rapt anticipation to see what occurred on my favorite blogs or what my friends changed on Facebook. You know what? This is the exact reason why I turned off my computer for a day and a half. I need to stop caring about this stupid crap.
Anyway, there was a continuing story about Stephen Colbert’s challenge to the Decemberists, which is just about the funniest thing ever. Everybody watch The Colbert Report on the 20th cause Colbert is going to get rocked. Chris Funk is going to destroy him.
I’m gonna go read or something. The internet is annoying.
